Hi, I am Jim Duell and really enjoy taking pictures of the sunsets that we see in our travels around the state of New York. This first photo comes from sitting in my truck for my dinner hour at work at about 6:45pm in Henrietta, NY. I work at Lowe's and each evening that I work I try to get some great sunset pictures.
SUNSETS ACROSS NEW YORK
Some of the best sunsets are across Lake Ontario in the western skies from Buffalo to Rochester to Oswego onto the 1000 Islands area and up the St. Lawrence Seaway. Spending a couple of hours sitting at the pier at Morristown, NY I got a lot of beautiful photos. I also get photos at just a mile from my home in Perry, NY on Silver Lake looking to the western skies toward the City Of Buffalo and the skies are magnificantly colored with unforgetable colors that are gorgous.

MY EQUIPTMENT INCLUDE :
Most of the shots are with my Minolta 5xi with a 28 - 105 mm AF lens. Using Kodak 200 Gold 35mm film I shoot at around 125/f/5.6 or f/8. I carry a camera with me just about all of the time and I do use it to take photos of different sunsets. Using a Kodak 290 and a Kodak DC210+ Digital camera with each camera settings different for different sizes of pictures. I use the 210+ for putting photos on all of my websites and the larger photos to print out. I have just purchased a new Konica Minolta 7D Digital SLR to be able to work with it during the winter season to get ready for a full 2005 season in digital photography. Been taking pictures of some of my favorite places like my camp that our family has had since 1968, also different railroad depots and trains passing through. Took some of the new Super Walmart that is going into Geneseo, NY and the progression of the building. I like photographing large buildings and structures along with sunsets.
WOW !!! WHAT A CAMERA !!!
After just purchasing this new Konica Minolta 7D DSLR I am really amazed on all the different settings and controls that this camera has. I have started reading the 146 page manual that came with it and this is going to be great once I've mastered all the different functions that are available. I really don't want to take it out in the cold weather to use but, I just might have to to get some great sunset pictures. I will need to find out how to make them about 50.0 kbs to be able to fit on all 25 of my different web pages that I have built. Hopefully, I can find out how this is done.

AS THE SUN SETS IN THE WEST
While Traveling Along Route 20A Out Of Warsaw, NY Toward Perry I Pulled Out My Camera And Started Taking Some Shots Of This Great Looking Pink Colored Sky. I used my Kodak DC210+ Digital Camera for all these shots. I Took 55 Photos And Will Be Putting Them On This Site Soon. In The Top Left Corner Stands A Full Moon Behind The Colored Skies.
